Ministry Teams

Fair Street has a variety of Ministry Teams to help carry out the work and ministry of the church.
Each team gathers to thoughtfully and prayerfully build a loving and inclusive Fair Street Church community by working to manifest the love exemplified by Jesus Christ.

...plans and implements services of worship incorporating music, prayer, and messages that are based in traditional liturgy. We work to engage all generations. All God’s children are welcome to participate and use their gifts to lead and encounter God. We strive to honor and glorify God through maintaining the worship space for thoughtful engagement through communion and all of the liturgical seasons of the church.
...provides opportunities that empower, nurture and encourage young and old alike to live, learn, and grow in their faith. Working diligently to offer learning opportunities for children (of all ages) to learn of God’s love.
Each Sunday following the Children's Message, the young people leave the service for age appropriate learning and worship. Children and Worship is for children age 3 through 4th grade. They hear Bible stories in an interactive way. Sunday School is for grades 5-9 and engages the students in learning the same text that is being preached.
Youth Fusion is a collaborative effort with churches throughout the Mid Hudson Classis. Gatherings are every first Sunday of the month, typically from 4-6pm, and for anyone in Middle or High School.
Vacation Bible School is presented mid-summer, for younger children.
...extends care, compassion, and hospitality to the Fair Street Community. We work to create a community of warmth and welcome sharing the love and care of Jesus Christ by addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental health needs of the congregation, helping our congregation grow closer in relationship to each other and to Christ. Fair Street's Otto Closet is a medical supply loan closet. We have items - from crutches to walkers and more - that are available for use by anyone who might have a need. Call the church office to inquire.
...reaching out to the community and the world to share God’s love and mercy through word and action. Following the example of Jesus, we work to develop opportunities that minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the larger community, sharing the love and care of Jesus Christ.
...provides care and stewardship of the physical plant and grounds.
...organized for the purpose of Christian fellowship and charity, it serves as a resource and support for both the FSRC and the greater community. This ministry team remains the same with the day in and day out workings and functions of the Thrift Shop.
The Thrift Shop also oversees the work of the Classic Car Show that takes place every August.
...from volunteer screening to exit signs, emergency strategies and more, this ministry team makes sure that Fair Street is a safe space for everyone who walks through our doors.
...provides information and resources to help Fair Streeters be thoughtful stewards of the blessings God has provided. Stewardship oversees the finances of the church, staff, and scholarship opportunities
...works to oversee the work of the Nursery School.
