Some of you might be wondering when Fair Street might re-open the building for worship. The Elders met this past week and spent time on this conversation. The following is what we sent out in an email yesterday morning to share the following update:
“The Elders and Safe Church Ministry Team wanted to send a brief update on how we’re responding to recent announcements in regards to re-opening and worship. With 46% of the Fair Street Community in the vulnerable/at-risk population when it comes to COVID-19, and because there are still many unknowns, the Elders and Safe Church Team have agreed that it is in the best and safest interest of everyone to continue worshipping together on Zoom. We will plan to do this until we feel it is safer for the Fair Street Community to gather in person. This will also allow us time to prepare the Sanctuary space for when we are able to gather in person once again. Should you have any questions, please talk with one of the Elders or Pastor Kendra.”
Remember, the building is closed and as big and beautiful as the building is, it is just that, a building. However, the church, is still very much alive, WE are the church, and we are gathering on Zoom for worship each week, ministry is happening and one of the ways we are living into our call to love God and our neighbor by staying home, staying safe, caring about the other person.
In the meantime, stay safe, keep washing your hands and if you must go out, wear your mask.
You are always welcome to join us on Zoom for worship! If you’d like information for worship, you can email Pastor Kendra.
